We feed a hybrid diet of both RAW and kibble. We feed NutriSource dry kibble and NutriSource wet recipes. We rotate between proteins. I have listed links for the different recipes below.

The Pure Vita and the Seafood Select formulas at the bottom of this list are Grain Free. Note: The claim of grain-free diets causing DCM has not been established. No link has been found with dogs that develop DCM and feeding grain free diets.

We use Wondercide Flea and Tick Products here at Crossroads Canine. We care deeply about the health and wellness of our dogs. We use chemical free, natural products whenever possible.

*DIY FLEA AND TICK SPRAY

We occasionally make our own flea and tick spray using the following mixture of all natural ingredients:

7 TBSP Thayer's Witch Hazel (Amazon paid link)

2 Drops Organic Coconut Oil - We use Handcraft Fractionated Coconut Oil (Amazon paid link)

50 Drops of Tumeric Essential Oil (Amazon paid link) We use Eden's Gardens Essential Oils. Their oils are premium quality. Eden's Gardens is also a faith-based company. 

The above mixture will make enough to treat one medium-large sized dog two or three times so this ratio will need to be doubled, tripled, etc. for multiple dogs.

Nutrition is a non-negotiable aspect of raising healthy dogs which is why we use Canine Performance Nutrition's Supplements for all of our dogs and puppies. I personally spent a great deal of time researching the best supplements for our dogs before deciding upon CPN. Not only do I trust the ingredients, but CPN has different formulas depending on the specific needs of the dog. The most often used supplement here at Crossroads Canine is CPN's "Vertex" which helps maintain energy levels, supports muscle growth, joint support, assists with recovery during exercise, and it's great for even very picky eaters among a long list of other benefits. Our dogs absolutely love the taste of this supplement. We add Vertex to our working adult dogs' daily diets. For pregnant and nursing females, we add "Structure". We also add "Structure" to the daily meals of young puppies to help get them off to a great, healthy start. For dogs that can use a little extra bulking up, we add "Weight Boost" to their meals which is ideal for hard gainers and is made from 100% human grade ingredients. All of their supplements are made right here in the USA and sourced from ingredients produced in the USA

*We add CoQ10 to our adult dogs' diets daily. 

 We give our adult dogs a modest dose of 60mg with their daily meal. *Consult with a licensed veterinarian regarding supplementation and appropriate dosing for your individual dog. All of our dogs have Embark DNA and/or AKC DNA +Health genetic health testing at a minimum to help ensure we are breeding healthy dogs. When you purchase a puppy from us, your puppy has a 1-year health guarantee against genetic health conditions. If you purchase a trained adult dog from us, your dog will also have a health guarantee plus genetic health testing completed. After researching canine cardiac health and the available evidence of CoQ10 for heart health, we have decided to include this is our adult dogs' daily supplement regimen.

Additional Information: The CoQ10 dosage for treatment is 5-10 mg/lb of bodyweight during treatment depending on age, breed, and condition. Consult with a licensed veterinarian. If your using CPN supplements (listed in the above section) there is no need to add any flavoring or toppers to get your dog to eat the CoQ10.

We add Taurine to our adult dogs' daily diet at a dosage of Medium dogs - 1,000mg or 1/4 teaspoon once daily Large dogs - 2,000mg or 1/2 teaspoon once daily or as recommended by a veterinarian.  If you are using the supplement listed above, it contains 50mg of Taurine. We personally add the additional Taurine.

For over 20 years, I have trusted the quality of Herm Springer Prong Collars. I even have the first one I purchased and it's still in good condition today! These collars are Made in Germany and far superior in quality to the cheaply made collars in big box pet stores.
